Living Machines…. oooo

New technologies changing the equations with our issues with environment changes, poor soils, pollution etc….. Building new tools to help with our dire environmental crisis. Biology and Engineering are merging into a new discipline – Bioengineering. Molecular Biology and Engineering combining? Say way? How? Genomics – genes responsible for diseases. Angen, Biotech – biotech companies.

Molecular Biology is the hardware of cells, Genomics is the software of the cells. Unraveling the genetic foundations of diseases and using viruses to run batteries. How cool is that!

You must read the book by past MIT president Susan Hockfield “The Age of Living Machines”. Gives me hope!!!!!

Longevity – Probably shouldn’t take NAD boosters unless you supplement the side effects from doing that.

Well I just listened to a great pod cast. Here you go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJV-SdaRHvA&t=3405s

This is a discussion between two doctors both interesting in Anti Aging, but has different view points on how to increase NAD production to turn back the aging clock.

When watching this video, look at the details and watch this part that talks a bit about this. 1:31:37 David’s plant based diet- and why it could be better 1:38:10 Meat consumption and the environment 1:45:35 Where to find David’s stuff. 1:47:20 The most radical thing David has done recently.

This also addresses the fact that cows aren’t the real global warming problem… Finally someone is defending agriculture…..

Wow this is harder than I thought – Vaccine date collection

Well there is an interesting event going on in November. Check out their website. https://www.thevieevent.com

As for data websites, most of the stuff is just tweeted or copied of images but Im frustrated to not be able to actually find research sites. I checked out this law firm mctlaw.com. This was interesting in that they litigate against Vaccine harm. It’s interest that this site above is changing the narrative to VACCINE INJURY… mmm

There are peeps whose kids were harmed by vaccines Im am finding is far less than the amount of deaths from not vaccinating. However… Im am not even close to making a real stance either way yet. This stuff is scary for sure Im so glad I don’t have kids to worry about this stuff.

Another Site I need to play in is CrazyMothers. They are actually hosting the November 14th Event. This site is well organized. https://crazymothers.info. They should have changed the spelling of Crazy to Crazy because they aren’t crazy this stuff is real and happening to kids.

Again short muse as Im swamped with appointments today! Please add info if you have it in the comments.

I find it interesting that when I go to places like Tweeter these people’s accounts are blocked. For example: This Blogger: https://thinklovehealthy.com/contact/about/

This is not right. So much for freedom of speech I guess, no wonder I can’t seem to search the web and easily find this stuff. mmmm Maybe I shouldn’t be blogging about this? Will I get blocked? mmmm

Next Obsession – Ingredients in Vaccinces

Vaccines – What are you really getting and is it worth the risks.

This is going to take me a while to research as it’s an entirely new subject. First off I plan on watching this Ted Talk to wrap my head about pandemics which we vaccinate ourselves against right?

I have severn links I need to pour through but they are on my old cell phone not easy to transfer. So if you are reading this and have research links for me, post in comments.

Short post for the day but here is the link to my first item to get introduced to the whole vaccine thing and why we do it.

Anti-Aging Products -Am I a mouse?

Well hello there. Today’s muse is on anti-aging products info – not recommending taking just musing mind you.

Ingredients newly learned about are:

Pterostibene – cool stuff in blueberries – way better than the stuff from Grapes -resveratrol. This stuff works to help your aged signals that give instructions to your DNA work better. Too simple? Here are some details for you then. Pterostilbene is a kind of extra-potent version of resveratrol. The pterostilbene molecule is nearly identical to resveratrol’s except for a couple of differences that make it more “bioavailable” (animal studies indicate that about four times as much ingested pterostilbene gets into the bloodstream as resveratrol). Test-tube and rodent studies also suggest that pterostilbene is more potent than resveratrol when it comes to improving brain function, warding off various kinds of cancer and preventing heart disease. This info is from: https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/guest-blog/beyond-resveratrol-the-anti-aging-nad-fad/?amp;text=Beyond

Nicotinamide mono nucleotide (MNM) – This is the NAD booster. Remember in my other blog how I show how NAD gets depleted with Alcohol consumption. Well in general NAD levels as we age are lower so boosting them is the idea to help us stay younger longer.

How does this work? Well according to Dr. Sinclair – NMN is a precursor to NAD+, or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, meaning it becomes NAD+ through a series of chemical transformations. NAD+ is a coenzyme that living things cannot survive without and is critical for everything from energy and metabolism and even sleep, but levels of NAD+ naturally fall with age, making it — and NMN, as a result — crucial to the science of aging.

Metformin– Now this one is a weird one. You need a doc prescription for it. It is actually a drug for diabetics. Below are details about this drug from https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5943638/.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5943638/

There is a great interview by Comedian Joe Rogan which I love to watch while improving my mitochondria action which improves DNA behaviors – aka exercising. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOTS0HS7aq4&feature=youtu.be&t=391

Well this is really interesting. If any of this info is wrong please let me know Im not a scientist really just reading and interpreting.

I am so tempted to order me up some of these supplements but pondering the question “Am I a mouse?” Something to think about in addition to this is whether I want to spend $100 a month on something that is only proven to work on a mouse…

Analog signals in our genetics – What about them?

Well I just watched the most eye opening Google Talk. https://youtu.be/9nXop2lLDa4. Dr. David Sinclair does a brilliant job and speaking in ways us non-scientist peeps can understand. Love the analogy using CD disks and how it relates to our cells that make us age.

This is a huge field of study right now.

Looking at this image think of your DNA the purple lines and the blue circles are the analog signal that tells your DNA cells who they are and they they are suppose to do. As we age those blue circles get scratched like an old CD and doesn’t work right so then your DNA Cells don’t know who or what they are suppose to do really. Interesting concept really.

Check out his google talk. Very interesting stuff.

Bloggers How do they do it?

Today’s musing is about how amazing real bloggers are who provide tons of info. For example one of my favorites is Karl Denniger’s blog https://www.market-ticker.org.

He writes so much without typos in one day. My god, let alone how does he gather this info so fast. Im fighting learning about NAD Chemical reactions to share with peeps and it’s going to take me a few days to dummy down the info so it’s relevant to the non science reader.

The next one I truly enjoy is Morning Brew. https://www.morningbrew.com/daily/latest. Great news that makes since of the crazy out there.

I so enjoy reading Yves Smith, Nakedcaptialism.com – she makes interesting points. Her article on California Blackouts is eye opening. It didn’t really dawn on me the impacts of blackouts. So many businesses can’t open without power. This is not good. I love her animal pics she posts too.

Well that’s it for me, I have a short window of 15 minutes as I need to help a friend move landscape rocks and transplant a Hollywood Juniper. Love these plants. There is something Dr. Seuss about them.

Drunk Mitochondria

Finally I found what I was looking for. Why is it when you drink Alcohol you gain weight? Well for lots of reasons but the one I was interested in is this. In simple terms without all the chemical processes explained (see image below if you are interested in the names of them) here is the deal. Your body uses a chemical NAD to breakdown your fat cells and to make glucose that feeds your muscles and brain. When you drink Alcohol your body is depleted of this and so this is why heavy drinkers get hypoglycemia. It can’t pull the glucose out of your fat cells let alone break them down into fatty acids to fuel your body correctly because it is low on NAD. This is why you get hungry at 2am after partying all night, your brain is needing glucose which your body can’t pull due to shortages of this chemical. I am sos implying this maybe too far but you get the point.

The Mitochondria are affected in last phase of this process where Acetate is created. These guys get damaged when too much Acetaldehyde accumulates from drinking too much too fast.

Here is a picture of the chemical process that happens. Ethanol = Alcohol. See how NAD+ is used for break down all these elements required to process Alcohol into our system. This is why bad things happen to our bodies if one is a heavy drinker.

https://youtu.be/txNISaSN9OM

In addition…. What your body does with Alcohol is when it’s broken down to be used as something in your body the only nutrient it provides is Fatty Acids. I always thought it was pure sugar but it’s not really. To our Liver’s its a Fatty Acid and too much of it gets stored in you liver as Triglycerides. This is why heavy drinkers get fatty livers. In addition high levels of triglycerides are associated with various liver and pancreas problems.

Now this is sparking a whole new question. How can one increase NAD levels so that I don’t get low on energy? Is this a natural process our body gets worse at making as we age. mmmmm Now that I figured out the reason why if you are tracking Fat grams, it’s important to know that alcohol basically is 100 percent fat to your body’s metabolism and is why it has little or no carbohydrates.

Off another path – Where to NAD’s come from. Also if you are reading this and find I am wrong please correct me. I am just trying to learn this on my own and have no real expert I can talk to.

Garden Cleanup Day

Today’s chores are to put the garden to bed for the winter. Dahlias are almost done. Yard waste nightmare though. Wish I lived in an area that has a yard waste pick up. I am filling up large garbage bags and then I plan on slowly cram them into the garbage can. How exciting is that. Not really but oh well.

Love the winter redness of the bark.

Im working on a Coral Bark wrapping some of the branches with copper wire to force it to grow in a weeping direction. It’s the control freak in me I guess, forcing a tall tree to be a short weeping one. hehehe. My father in-law taught me this trick. He is so talented in the garden, his garden is perfectly groomed. I asked him how he kept his beds so clean of debris. He answered “I vacuum it of course”. Im like what? Now he is fighting early stages of dementia so I was wondering if it was part or that or something I didn’t know I was suppose to do in the garden. He explained that he has a leaf blower that also vacuums with a bag to college all the leaves. OMG I am go getting me one of those for Christmas.

Well this is a short blog today, off to mow the lawn and shave the lavender one last time. I intend to do a little lavender bombing… It’s so fun…I bunny bombed someone down the street one time. I was experimenting with a clay/concrete product so I made a rabbit, he was a kind of big. I saw a woman down the street with a bit of a collection so I decided to add to it and see how long it would take her to figure it out. She got such a kick out of it how can I not continue the tradition right? If you know me you have been warned. hehehe

Tuesday My Grieving Friend

Well Im still working on my Mitochondria adventure but just not in the mood to research today so Im just going yap a bit about today I guess. Actually felt like putting a dress, tights and boots on but only for a second. hahahah

I am obsessing about my sad friend, who had to put her dog down a couple of days ago. That is so hard. It’s a hurt that just keeps stabbing you every where no matter what you do. You make breakfast and look down to be reminded he’s not there anymore. You clean the kitchen and miss the pooch pouncing on you wanting your attention. You try to eat but can’t there is no one to share it with.

I got her a funny little bat plant. When I delivered it she was confused. She didn’t know what she was suppose to do with it. I said to her “Silly it’s like a Christmas ornaments only for Halloween hang it on your tree outside the kitchen window”. She was said nothing for a bit then it finally kicked in with her “Oo ok I can do that”. My heart went out to her, she was broken and I couldn’t fix her. I asked her is she wanted to go do something. She wasn’t up for it.

So I will give her her space as hard as that is for me to do. Don’t you wish you could just fix everyone’s hurt. There is so much of it in the world.

Tomorrow is another chance for me to cheer her up. Off to fake clean the house as in-laws are coming for a couple of days. Bronco! is going to have so much attention.
